Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna, who charmed audiences with hits like Aradhana, Do Raaste and Amar Prem in the 1970s, died Wednesday afternoon after prolonged illness. He passed away at his residence here. Fondly known as Kaka, Khanna worked in about 160 films.

On December 29, 1942, Rajesh Khanna was born as Jatin Khanna in Amritsar. He made his acting debut at the age of 24 in 1966 with the Hindi film, Aakhri Khat. Though the film was a disaster at the box-office, Rajesh came into limelight and was offered roles in many films thereafter.
